Katie Troyer has just recently joined the Amish community. She’d given up her life in the big city to escape her abusive boyfriend. She isn’t having much luck in finding friends but when her money begins to run out, she finds a job.

Along with that job she finds Hannah and Seth. Hannah is single, but the most upbeat person that Katie has ever met. Their friendship grows as they pick vegetables together. Seth is much quieter and more introspective person. It takes him longer to warm up to Katie, but she he does, she realized she may feel more than friendship for him.

Since she’s skittish from her last relationship, she assumes Seth in not interested in her. When he asks to court her, she refuses. The chemistry between them is undeniable and it chases Katie back to her former life in the city.

Hannah tracks her down to tell her that the person that Seth is now dating is no good for him and that Katie must return to the Amish community. Katie does and learns that Seth has moved on, even if she hasn’t. Finally admitting her feelings to herself, Katie snoops and finds out what is the real story of Seth’s new beau.

It isn’t pretty, but will he believe her when she tells him?

With an injury leaving her feeling ugly and unworthy, Mary struggles with her social life in her little community. Many people know the story and know how she got the injury, but she still finds herself feeling as though she is an outsider where she had grown up.

Enter Jericho Yutzi. Young. Strapping. Handsome. An Amish young man with faith as strong as anyone’s and a heart big enough to match his faith. Immediately, Mary finds herself falling in love with him and wanting to get to know him more than she does. However, with her injury nagging at her mind, she refuses to let him know how she feels.

Jericho doesn’t give up easily, though. Despite Mary’s seemingly cold approach to getting to know him – and the fact that she would rather avoid the conversations that actually talk to him – he wonders if he’ll ever get to know her properly.

A fateful letter changes everything, and Mary must choose. Does she follow her heart and give up her lonely life, or does she stay with her lonely life and let Jericho go?
